Lesotho police request PM Tom Thabane to answer questions over wife's murder
Thabane was asked to appear before the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police Criminal Investigation Division on Wednesday in the morning.
JOHANNESBURG – Lesotho police on Monday called for Prime Minister Tom Thabane to answer questions on the killing of his wife Lipolelo Thabane in 2017
Thabane was asked to appear before the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police Criminal Investigation Division on Wednesday morning.
The call came hours after Thabane made a plea for all issues related to the police to be suspended.
The prime minister was making another statement in which he said parliament should begin processes for him to step down, but once again with no commitments to any timeline.
Unlike his wife Maesiah Thabane, who refused to report to police and fled when a warrant was issued for her arrest, the 80-year old Thabane might not be able to escape undetected.
